-I think every salsa dancer will agree that there are three key ingredients that are needed in order for a venue to establish a great atmosphere and bring those passionate dancers back craving for more. The crowd, quality of the dance floor and D.J. are often sought after. Although a good, mixed crowd and smooth dance floor is never guaranteed on any given night, I can sincerely say that great music is always delivered by a good friend of mine, D.J. Saoko. As any great D.J. would do, he constantly examines the crowd and plays music that reflects the particular crowd. I think it's even more amazing when a D.J. can keep dancers on the dance floor the majority of the night, especially the more dedicated dancers. What makes D.J. Saoko stand out amongst other good D.J.'s are his selection of tracks and the order they are played in. I am a big fan of the "salsa dura" era and I am consistently looking harder and harder for those underground garage bands that never really became famous but pack a punch. I am always amazed by the rarity that he brings to the table and by the end of the night, I almost always have a solid list of the chorus' that I liked for that night stuck in my head so when I get home, I can try to look them up on Google.
